Troy’s Story – Shop Supervisor
Troy Funk, Shop Supervisor
Nisku, AB
When did you start with Motion Canada? 2003
What do you like about working at Motion Canada?
The people I work with make it easy to come to work every morning. There are so many different personalities, but they all work well together and deliver a quality product to our customers. It may sound cliché, but it really is the people that make the difference.
Do you have a success story that you would like to share?
My success really is team success – everyone here works together to keep things running smoothly. From sales staff coordinating with the customers, to the managers ensuring we have the staff and tools to do the job, to our engineers and project coordinators making sure we have all the information, drawings and parts, then finally to the techs on the shop floor completing the projects. With all these brilliant people working together, it would be tough not to succeed!
Do you have any advice for anyone just starting at Motion Canada?
Work hard, do your best, be willing to learn and adapt to different situations or problems and be yourself.
Is there something unique or specific about your role that you really enjoy?
We support a very diverse industry and deal with many different types of heavy industrial equipment. Every day there’s a chance that something we have never seen before could come through the door, and I really enjoy that challenge – it allows me to keep learning and keeps things exciting.
What is your favourite “guilty pleasure” song or artist?
Luke Combs is quickly becoming my favourite artist.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Definitely an extrovert!
